Did Apartment Votes Drive Ladera’s Turnout Jump? Why Homeowners Should Vote
The LARMAC Board election is underway, with two seats open this year.
On October 1, a resident monitoring the election participation number noticed that turnout increased from approximately 5.9% to 11.5% in a single afternoon.
We do not know who cast those additional ballots, and the increase itself does not indicate anything improper. But the size of the jump was notable because apartment ownership associated with Ladera’s original developer continues to represent a concentrated voting block in LARMAC elections.
That makes homeowner participation especially important.
Even after the increase, participation was only about 11.5% at that point.
Regardless of which candidates you support, please take a few minutes to vote. When overall homeowner participation is low, concentrated voting blocks have proportionally greater influence over the outcome.
Online voting remains open until Friday, October 30 at 5:00 p.m. The election is being administered by The Inspectors of Election, and results will be announced at the November 4 Annual Meeting. Ladera Life
