Did Apartment Votes Drive Ladera’s Turnout Jump? Why Homeowners Should Vote
The LARMAC Board election is underway, with two seats open this year. On October 1, a resident monitoring the election participation number noticed that turnout increased from approximately 5.9% to 11.5% in a single afternoon. We do not know who cast those additional ballots, and the increase itself does not indicate anything improper. But the size of the jump was notable because apartment ownership associated with Ladera’s original developer continues to represent a concentr

Adams, New York: another community asking many of the same questions
Last week, we mentioned that Spectrum News was preparing a story about families in Adams, New York, who have been trying to understand multiple Ewing sarcoma diagnoses in their community. Progress from LARMAC Board Meeting
A little over two months ago, residents showed up at a LARMAC Board meeting asking for a reduction in pesticide use and more transparency about what was being applied in our community. At that point, the only concrete next step we were able to get was the creation of a resident advisory committee. None of us knew whether that committee would lead to meaningful change, or how quickly anything could move. Last night, the LARMAC Board approved five landscape-management resolut

What Ladera Health Watch Has Been Working On
I want to give everyone a broader update on what Ladera Health Watch has been working on since the beginning, because there are a lot of moving pieces and it can be hard to follow everything through Facebook comments. Since May, our focus has been very simple: to try to figure out if something unusual is happening in Ladera, and if so, why?
