Researchers at Cal State Fullerton Receive New funding to conduct independent research in Ladera Ranch
The independent environmental research underway in Ladera also received an important boost this week.
Researchers at Cal State Fullerton received a Rapid Response Grant through the College of Health and Human Development to support their ongoing work in Ladera Ranch.
The funding will provide additional resources for testing, equipment and field work and will give the team greater flexibility to expand the investigation as new questions emerge.
The research is already proceeding in phases. This additional support means the team will be better positioned to follow findings from initial sampling, historical records and environmental pathways rather than being limited to the original testing scope.
We will continue sharing updates as the researchers are ready to release them.
Looking ahead
Over the coming weeks, we will continue reviewing the Prima Deshecha record, supporting the expanded CSUF research, following the LARMAC election, and working with families and researchers in other communities reporting unusual Ewing sarcoma patterns. We will also continue pursuing other potential environmental factors including water, the abandoned oil wells, and historical land use.
As always, we are not assuming an answer before the evidence exists. We are trying to identify the right questions, find the records and expertise needed to answer them, and make those answers available to the community.
